The primary objective of CBH Lands is to continuously focus on responsible real estate development in Sri Lanka. Presently, CBH Lands are undertaking a dozen or more real estate development projects around the country with special focus in Kurunegala.
Yatila Wijemanne, the Founder Chairman, CBH Lands stated that "the core of our company is the traditional real estate model of developing large parcels of land into smaller parcels of land via providing the necessary infrastructure for land ownership. However, we focus on the traditional real estate model by adopting the responsible and ethical real estate concept". He continued to state that the sub-division real estate market like the apartment market in Colombo is highly competitive. Therefore, many real estate companies adopt unethical means throughout the entire cycle from purchasing, development through to final sales to the customer. Yatila Wijemanne said "some companies when purchasing large lands do not negotiate fairly with the owner, this is the act of being unethical". Manjarie Tissera Wijemanne, Founder/Managing Director explained the responsible development process of the properties and stressed that "CBH Lands go beyond the required land development guidelines via providing additional infrastructure. As a result, our customers do receive a great value for their investment". She further noted that certain land developers only look at the short-term when building the infrastructure of the land. Therefore, after a certain period of time customers face grave difficulties such as inadequate electricity, problems with water drainage and roads. CBH Lands focus on a life long infrastructure development process, thus providing an excellent parcel of land to customers. CBH Lands have developed a CBH Lands Real Estate Responsibility Framework. This internal document is a living document within the company. The company framework covers purchasing, development, approval and sales process of the company. Moreover, the internal financial process is an integral component, which has been adopted with maximum transparency for land buyers. Today, CBH Lands have successfully completed over 26 projects only in Kurunegala, about a dozen projects opened for sales and they intend to bring five projects in the New Year week 2017.
CBH Lands is a fully owned subsidiary of Ceylon Brand Group (CBG). CBG also fully owns Ceylon Brand Motors the Dealer for KIA Motors for the Wayamba Province.
